336 hours in a cordon

German Moiseev

According to the decision of the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus of March 15, 2020, and the Infectious Diseases Decree No. 5 (paragraphs 2a.i and 2a.ii) on the Determination of Measures to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus COVID – 19 by the Minister of Health on 17/3/2020, a mandatory condition for my return home to Larnaca was  a 14-day compulsory quarantine in accommodation facilities designated by the Republic of Cyprus.

I was accommodated in a three-star hotel on the coastline of Limassol. It was guarded by a cordon of national troops. I was planning to take advantage of my time, but fell ill on the third day. I started photographing myself and everything in my field of vision from the very beginning. And since then I couldn’t stop. I became a target object not only for them — the soldiers, the hotel staff, the nurses — but also for myself.
